Technical Project Manager

Overview:

Working with the Senior Project Manager (SPM), the Functional Project Manager (FPM) will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of multiple work groups (internal groups, client groups and contracted groups) to accomplish the stated project objectives and manage stakeholder expectations. The FPM will monitor and maintain the progress and mutual interaction of all parties so as to minimize risks to the project objectives, maximize benefits to client and to the company, and restrict costs. The FPM is accountable for ensuring that everyone on the team knows and executes his/her role, feels empowered and supported in the role, knows the roles of the other team members and acts upon the belief that those roles will be performed. The FPM will maintain communication and reporting to ensure the SPM and primary stakeholders are kept abreast of project developments, and bring to attention any milestones or objectives that are at risk.

Responsibilities:

• Assist SPM with developing and refining the project plan.
• Creating and/or maintaining documentation, forecasting, and communication tools.
• Creating testing procedures for various work processes and technical functions.
• Effectively apply existing methodologies and enforce project standards, while making recommendations for enhancements.
• Facilitate group meetings to monitor progress and ensure quality communication.
• Monitor and manage project schedule and milestones.
• Carefully review deliverables prepared by our team before forwarding to client.
• Monitor, manage and report to SPM any conflicts or risk to objectives.
• Assist with financial forecasting, and monitor adherence to budgets.

Professional Competencies:

Technical

• PMP certification highly preferable.
• Documented experience with IT projects with a scope of at least $1 million.  Experience with healthcare IT projects in particular is highly preferable.
• Familiarity with relational databases, GUI applications, and integrated system design.
• Understand basic revenue models, P&L, and cost-to-completion projections, and make decisions accordingly.
• Strong experience with project management software. Experience with Clarizen highly preferable.
