Fresh Login Screen Wallpapers for Mac

Here are steps to change your default Mac splash screen shown when logging into OS X (Leopard, Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion).

1. Open /System/Library/CoreServices and copy the file named “DefaultDesktop.jpg” somewhere safe as a backup
2. Rename the image you want as your new splash screen “DefaultDesktop.jpg” and move it to /System/Library/CoreServices
3. Since this is part of the System, you’ll need administrative privileges to change the image.
